THE BOLD BEAN JOURNEY...
Amelia started her life hating beans. She thought they were dull and tasteless. But one fateful hangover in Spain, looking in an empty fridge for ANYTHING to eat, forced her hand. A jar of heirloom butter beans was all she had so she spooned one straight from the jar. Her opinion changed on the spot.
She found herself closing her eyes, totally immersing herself in that moment. This was a truly delicious, melt-in-the-mouth bean.
Turns out Amelia’s issue was never with beans as a food group - it was with the uninspiring tins, perpetually lingering at the BACK of the cupboard. From that moment on, Amelia was hooked.
HER ISSUE WAS NEVER BEANS
After four years working in the food sustainability and restaurant space Amelia realised BEANS WILL SAVE THE WORLD. They are one of the most sustainable and healthiest food groups on the planet. Packed with protein and fibre, they’re an amazing alternative to meat which isn’t ultra-processed.
Bold Bean Co beans are chosen for flavour over yield. We source the tastiest bean varieties, cook them low and slow and season properly throughout the cooking process like real chefs do!
But frustratingly, the world still saw beans the way she used to. A tasteless war-time staple sold by pasta manufacturers, not bean specialists. So in 2021, Amelia created Bold Bean Co with the mission to make the world OBSESSED with beans by giving them THE BEST of beans.

Somehow, Amelia managed to find a group of very talented people who felt the same way. We're now a group of eight with a big ole dream: TO MAKE A WORLD FULL OF LEGUME LOVERS!
