Where do the beans come from?
Our mission is to make people OBSESSED with beans by bringing you the BEST of beans. So, each year we source our beans from the best place in the world for each harvest. The origin can change from year to year depending on which crop is the most DELICIOUS.
This flexibility allows us to always select the BIGGEST, creamiest beans of true QUEEN quality.
If you’d ever like to know where a specific batch of beans was grown, just get in touch* with us and we’ll happily share the details!
My beans haven’t arrived yet!
If you want to check where your order is, you can do this by clicking on the tracking link in your order confirmation email. If you have not received the link, the beans are still in the warehouse waiting to be dispatched! We appreciate your patience! - but do get in touch with hi@boldbeanco.com if it has been over 5 working days and we can provide some clarification.
My jars are broken!
We’re really sorry if your jar arrived broken! Please email us at hi@boldbeanco.com as soon as possible with:
- Your order number
- A photo of the damaged jar (if possible)
Once we have this, we’ll look into it right away and make this right!
I can’t get into my jars - the lid is too tight!
We seal our jars very tightly to keep the beans safe and well protected inside to stop them spoiling! But check out this blog post for some useful tips if you’re having trouble opening the jar.
The simplest tip is to break the seal of the jar to be able to open them with ease. The easiest way to do this is to insert the tip of a spoon under the lip of the jar. The jar should then POP straight open.
We also recommend giving the lid a gentle bash on a hard surface to break the seal - you will hear a pop, and then it will be easy to open.
(If you feel nervous about bashing the jar in case of breaking or about hitting your surfaces - feel free to pop a tea towel over the jar for even more safety!)
How long do the beans last?
Unopened, our jars have a SUPER long shelf life. The best before date will be printed on the side of the jar (or lid of the baked beans), and will likely have a date of 2030.
Once opened, they should be refrigerated and consumed within 4 days.
Can I freezer the beans?
Easy answer - yes!
This will depend on the recipe (a salad won't freeze well!), But most of our soups, curries or stew based recipes are ideal for batch cooking and freezing.
If you're not using the beans in a recipe, we recommend decanting the beans from the jar into a tupperware or freezer bag, not freezing them in the jar. This will make them easier to defrost.
We recommend defrosting your beans in the fridge. Heating from frozen can often cause the beans to go a little mushy!
Check out our best batch-cook recipes here - which again are easily freeze-able.

What do I do with the packing peanuts that come in my box?
Our white packaging peanuts are called Eco Flo. They are proudly made in the UK, fully compostable + dissolvable in water.
Simply pour them into the sink (or a bath tub - depending on how big your bean order is!), and rinse them under water with water, giving them a bit of a scrunch as you go. They will slowly break down and drain away.
You can also pop them in your compost.
They cannot be put in the recycling.
Are the beans vegan friendly?
Yes! All of our products only contain beans, salt + water! Including our baked beans.
