Classic Baked Beans on Toast with Crispy Bacon

Nothing quite like the smell of bacon + baked beans cooking on a weekend morning! Our classic baked beans have a delicious tang to them, so they pair perfectly with fattier flavours - like bacon + butter - to balance out the tang. The perfect weekend brunch, ready in less than 15 minutes.

Ingredients

1 jar Classic Baked Beans

4 slices of streaky bacon

2 slices of sourdough, or bread of choice

1 tbsp olive oil or butter, for toasting bread

Knob of butter, for serving

Directions

Heat a frying pan over a medium‑high heat and cook the bacon until crisp and golden - about 6-7 minutes. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels and set aside.

Meanwhile, heat the baked beans in a small pan over a medium‑low heat until warmed through.

In the same frying pan you cooked the bacon in, In the same frying pan, add olive oil or butter over a medium heat. Place the slices of sourdough in the pan and toast until crisp and golden on both sides. Alternatively, you could toast the bread in a toaster.

Generously spread each slice of toast with butter, spoon over the beans and top with the crispy bacon.
