What's the difference?

White beans all share a similar creamy, mild taste that makes them incredibly versatile in cooking. That's why we love em! They act as a blank canvas to soak up any flavour you throw at them.

Cannellini, Navy, Haricot, and Great Northern beans are all part of this white bean family, each with their own unique characteristics. Navy beans are small and soft (ideal for soups), Great Northern beans are medium-sized with a nutty flavour (ideal for stews), and last but CERTAINLY not least are cannellini beans, large, creamy and more specifically, the QUEEN Cannellini, which is the newest bean to our own white bean family.

QUEEN BEANS

When we're talking about "Queen" beans, we're referring to flavour-first sourcing. Every bean variety is suited to different growing conditions, and so we source the VERY best bean suited to that climate. They are then cooked low and slow in just water and a pinch of salt, which results in the BEST TASTING BEANS out there, i.e. Queens!

What sets our Queen Cannellini's apart from other white beans are their SIZE. These Queens are bigger than most other white beans, which gives them a more hearty texture.

Our Queen Bean Range vs Organic

The idea is simple: we want to make the best beans for every occasion. Our mission is to make everyone obsessed with beans, and that means catering to all individuals with different preferences and needs. For those who prioritise organic eating, we’re committed to keeping our Organic range alive and thriving. We know how important it is to have an option you can pick up in the supermarket that still delivers BIG on flavour and texture - and we want to be first port of call for that.

As we continue to expand our range, FLAVOUR + QUALITY will always be our top priority, and we're confident we can deliver this in both Organic + Non-Organic formats.

Both beans can have their place in your pantry. But the main difference will be our Queen Cannellini Beans being used for dishes where size really matters. Think beans in a pasta sauce, or when you want the bean to SHINE in a simple salad.

How do I use them?

Don't let this difference put you off! Despite these subtle differences, you can use Queen Cannellini beans in exactly the same way you’d use any other white bean. Whether you're making soups, stews, salads, or even blending them into dips or mashes, these beans are incredibly versatile. Think of them as an elevated option in the white bean family—they bring a bit more richness to the table, but thanks to their size, they can hold their own in most dishes, with little else needed adding to them to make a seriously satisfying meal. All white beans will still fit seamlessly into any recipe that calls for this variety.
